Unlike the BMFA league which is held in summer and is a national league, the Winter league is a regional series. Events are held between November and March.
The aims are to:
- promote F3F at a regional level
- hold a ‘Champion of Champions’ event
There are currently five winter leagues: North, Midlands, South, Welsh and Scottish. (See also Calendar of Events.)
Champion of Champions
The league concludes with the two-day Champion of Champions event on the last weekend of March.
Previously, pilots had to qualify through the regional leagues, however the competition is now open entry – you’re welcome to participate even if you didn’t enter a winter league event.
The Champion of Champions trophy is awarded each year and should be returned by the winning pilot.
